ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮਰਿਯਮ ਦੀ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ। ਪਰ ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮਰਿਯਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 7:14
ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦਰਸਾਵੇਗਾ: ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਔਰਤ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖੋ। ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਮਾਨੂਏਲ ਰੱਖੇਗੀ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮਰਿਯਮ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ। ਮਰਿਯਮ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਹੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 3:15
ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਕੁਚਲੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਨੂੰ ਡਸੇਂਗਾ।”

ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਤੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼, ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਤੂੰ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਕੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ।
ਮੱਤੀ 1:23
“ਕੁਆਰੀ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇੰਮਾਨੂਏਲ ਰੱਖਣਗੇ।” ਜਿਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਇਹ ਹੈ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ।”

ਤਾਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਨਗਰ ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ।
