ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਦੀ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਕੱਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਬੁਲਾਈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਆਗੁਆਂ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ, ਜੱਜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਖਲੋ ਗਏ।

ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਛੁਟਾਕਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੋ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ।’ ਹੁਣ ਆਓ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖਲੋਵੋ।”

ਅਬਰਾਮ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੀਕ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੋਹਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਪਦਮ ਅਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਇੱਕ ਓਕ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਖ਼ਰੋਜ 18:25
ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨੇਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਚੁਣੇ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਗੂ ਬਣਾਇਆ। 1,000 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ, 100 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ, 50 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ 10 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਾਕਮ ਸਨ।
ਕਜ਼ਾૃ 9:1
ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਯਰੁੱਬਆਲ (ਗਿਦਾਊਨ) ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਚਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਾਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ,

ਰਾਜਸੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਨਾਬਾਟ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭੱਜਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਮਿਲੀ, ਉਹ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਯਹਰਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜਿਆ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੇ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ।
ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੱਬ 10:33
ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਵਕਤ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਸਦਕਾ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਇੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”
