ਅੱਯੂਬ 24

1 “ਇਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੋਂ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੋਕਾਰ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।”

2 “ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੜੱਪਣ ਲਈ ਜੈਦਾਦ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਸੱਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਲੋਕ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਚਰਾਂਦਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

3 ਉਹ ਯਤੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਜਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗਊ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

4 ਬਦ ਲੋਕ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁਂਘਦੇ ਅਨਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਗਰੀਬ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

5 ਉਹ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਘਰ ਹੋਕੇ ਦਰ-ਦਰ ਭਟਕਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਸਾਰੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

6 “ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ, ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਠ ਖਲੋਂਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਬੰਜਰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

7 ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਹ ਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਰ ਰਾਤ ਤੀਕ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਤੋਂੜਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ

8 ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਭਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਪਿੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੌਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸਰਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਕੰਬਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

9 ਉਹ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

10 ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨਂਗ ਧੜਂਗ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਬੁਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਨ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

11 ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦਾ ਤੇਲ ਨਪੀੜਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਨਪੀੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।

12 ਸ਼ਰਿਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਦਾਸ ਆਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਸੱਟ ਖਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚੀਖਦੇ ਨੇ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ।

13 “ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਿਦਰੋਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ।

14 ਕਾਤਲ ਸੁਬਹ-ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ, ਉਹ ਚੋਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

15 ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖੇਗਾ।’ ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਢੱਕ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

16 ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਦ ਲੋਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰੀਁ ਵੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਰ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਹੇਜ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।

17 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਸਵੇਰ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਾਰੂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦੀ ਭਿਆਨਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਨੇ।

18 “ਪਰ ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਰੁਢ਼ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਰੁਢ਼ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸਰਾਪੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

19 ਗਰਮ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਮੌਸਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਖੋਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਰਫ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ, ਕਬਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

20 ਬੁਰਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੀੜਾ ਉਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਗਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਲਠ੍ਠ ਵਾਂਗ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

21 ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਬਾਂਝ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ। ਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਹੋਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ।

22 ਬਦ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਦ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਣ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਪੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

23 ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਉ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇ। ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰੇ।

24 ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ। ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ, ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

25 “ਮੈਂ ਕਸਮ ਖਾਕੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਨੇ। ਕੌਣ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ? ਕੌਣ ਦਰਸਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹਾਂ?”

1 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

2 Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.

3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.

4 They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

5 Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.

6 They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.

7 They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.

8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.

10 They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;

11 Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

12 Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.

13 They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

16 In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.

17 For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

18 He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.

19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.

20 The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

21 He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

22 He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.

23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.

24 They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

25 And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
