Genesis 24:61
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਿਬਕਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਦਾਈ ਊਠਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲ ਪਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੇ ਰਿਬਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉਹ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਤੱਕ ਲੜਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਬਚ ਨਾ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 400 ਜੁਆਨ ਊਠਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਨਿਕਲੇ।

ਮਾਰਦਕਈ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਤੇਜ ਘੋਢ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਸੱਕਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਇਉਂ ਸੀ:

ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ-ਛੇਤੀ ਖਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਫੁਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੂਸ਼ਨ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਧੀਏ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ, ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝੀਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾ।
