Acts 7:43
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੋਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵੇਤੇ ਰਿਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਬਿੰਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਪੂਜਣ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੇਬੀਲੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।’

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਅਪਣਾਏ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਟੂਣੇ-ਟੋਟਕੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬਦ-ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਸੋ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦੀ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਲਹ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਾਬੋਰ, ਗੋਜ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਛੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਾ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਸਦਾ ਬੁੱਤ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ।

ਹੋਸ਼ੇਆ ਦੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਲਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਬੋਰ, ਗੋਜ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 5:8
‘ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੁੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ। ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀਜ਼ ਜਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਪਰਲੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੇਠਲੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਬੁੱਤ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਉ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 4:16
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖੋ! ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਉਂਦੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਉ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਾਂ ਔਰਤ ਵਰਗੀ ਦਿਸਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਅਹਬਾਰ 20:2
“ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ; ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਮੋਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇ। ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਹਬਾਰ 18:21
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਮੋਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।
ਖ਼ਰੋਜ 20:4
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਬੁੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ। ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਜਾਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨਾ ਬਨਾਓ।
