Obadiah 1:8
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਉਸ ਦਿਨ, ਮੈਂ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਏਸਾਓ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਭੰਬਲ ਭੂਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਸੀਹਤ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।”
ਯਸਈਆਹ 19:13
ਸੋਆਨ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਮੂਰਖ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਨੋਫ਼ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਝੂਠਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, “ਉਹ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੁਸਤ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ੜਦਾ ਹੈ।”
