ਇਉਂ ਅਸਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਹਸ਼ਵੇਰੋਸ਼ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਟੇਬੇਬ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸਤਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲੀਁ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ।

ਅਸਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਣੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਆਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਹਸ਼ਵੇਰੋਸ਼ ਦਾ ਕਰੋਧ ਠੰਡਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਸ਼ਤੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵਸ਼ਤੀ ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਵਿਆ।
ਆ ਸਤਰ 2:3
ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਆਗੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਵਿਆਹੀਆਂ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੂਸ਼ਨ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਉਣ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਜਨਾਨਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਖੁਸਰੇ ਹੇਗਈ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਰੇਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਾਨਖਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੱਕੱਤਰ ਸੱਦੇ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੀਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਤੇਈਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਕੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਾਰਦਕਈ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ, ਆਗੂਆਂ, ਰਾਜਪਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਸ਼ ਤੀਕ 127 ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਨਮਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
