2 Samuel 2:3
ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਏ।

ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਕਲਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ, ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਿਕਲਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿਕਲਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਬੋਲਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ।
੧ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 12:1
ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸੰਗੀ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਿਕਲਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੀਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੁਕਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਅਰਬਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਇਹ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਰਬਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਰਬਾ ਅਨੋਕ ਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਸੀ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਹੋ ਪਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ, ਕੁਝ ਕਰਜਾਈ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕ, ਦੁੱਖੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰਾਮ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਗੂ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਹੁਣ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੀਬ 400 ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਨ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ 600 ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਸੋਰ ਦੀ ਖੱਡ ਤੱਕ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ 200 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਬੰਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ। ਉਹ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਇੰਨੇ ਥੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਚੱਲਣੋ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ 400 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
