ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਪਰ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੋਟਾ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਉਂ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।
