੨ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 8

1 ਸ਼ੂਨੰਮੀ ਔਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉੱਠ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਚਲੀ ਜਾ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਪਰ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਹੇਗਾ।”

2 ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ।

3 ਜਦ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ, ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲਈ ਮੁੜ ਆਈ। ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।

4 ਤਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਗੇਹਾਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, “ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਜੋ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।”

5 ਜਦ ਗੇਹਾਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਿਸ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ, ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਖੁੱਸ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗਣ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਗੇਹਾਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਬੱਚਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

6 ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ? ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਤਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਇਸਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੀਕ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਜੋ ਇਸਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।”

7 ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਦਾ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਕੋਲ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਣਾ ਤਾਂ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਦੰਮਿਸਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। ਅਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਤਦ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।

8 ਤਦ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾਓ ਤੇ ਤੋਹਫ਼ਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ?”

9 ਤਦ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੰਮਿਸਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਲੀ ਊਠ ਕਰਨੇ ਪਏ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਰੋਗ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ?”

10 ਤਦ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅੱਛਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

11 ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਵੱਲ ਟਿਕ-ਟਿਕੀ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਉਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਤਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਰੋਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

12 ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਤੂੰ ਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?” ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ “ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੌਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੇਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚੀਰ ਸੁੱਟੇਂਗਾ।”

13 ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਾਂ।” ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।”

14 ਤਦ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਨੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ?” ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।”

15 ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਪਰ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੋਟਾ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਉਂ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।

16 ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।

17 ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ 32 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।

18 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ।

19 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਾਰਣ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

20 ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦੋਮ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਅਧੀਨਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਅਲੱਗ ਰਾਜਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ।

21 ਤਦ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੱਥ ਸਈਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਅਦੋਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਬਚਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਭੱਜ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤ ਗਈ।

22 ਸੋ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਤੀਕ ਆਕੀ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਲਿਬਨਾਹ ਵੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

23 ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਾਰਜ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ।

24 ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ।

25 ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।

26 ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ 22 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ ਅਥਲਯਾਹ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਆਮਰੀ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।

27 ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਵੀ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਹੀ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੁਆਈ ਸੀ।

28 ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਦਿਆਂ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੱਟੜ ਹੋਣਾ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ। ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੱਟੜ ਕੀਤਾ।

29 ਯੋਰਾਮ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ। ਯੋਰਾਮ ਯਿਜ਼ਰਏਲ ਖੇਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ। ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਯਿਜ਼ਰਏਲ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ।

1 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the Lord hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

3 And it came to pass at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.

4 And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.

5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.

7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.

8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die.

11 And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.

12 And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.

13 And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.

14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.

15 And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.

16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.

17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.

20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

21 So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.

22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.

23 And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.

26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.

28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth-gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
