ਤਦ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਕੰਧ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜ਼ੋਰ-ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੀ ਬੋਲਕੇ ਸੁਨਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾ ਕੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣ।

ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਉਂ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਸਨ, “ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਮਕਾ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਉਂ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਲੋਕ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਇਉਂ ਕੰਧ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।” ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇੁਸ਼ਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਲ ਬਖਸ਼।”
