ਅਬੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਬੈਤਏ0ਲ ਦੇ ਯਸ਼ਾਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, ਅਫ਼ਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਆਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੇਦ ਨਬੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕਿਆ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਬਜਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਸਾਰੇ ਘਿਰਣਾ ਯੋਗ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਰੰਮਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਰਾਂਡੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੀ।
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 10:19
ਪਰ ਖੁਦ ਉੱਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਨਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੋ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿੱਛਿਓ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੋ। ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਾ ਆਉਣ ਦਿਉ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।”

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਇਸਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਬਿਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੱਚਿਆ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਬਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਸਲੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 11:12
ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਸਨ ਜਦ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਨੱਸ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਸਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਵੱਸ ਗਏ।

ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ-ਆਮ ਘੁੰਮਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਜਾੜ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ।
