ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਢਾਹਿਆ। ਅਜੇ ਤੀਕ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 57:5
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਨਦੀ ਕੰਢੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤੇ ਪਬਰੀਲੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 65:4
ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਵੀ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸੂਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੁਰੀ ਕਾਂਟੇ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 66:17
ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਾਸ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਾਸ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। “ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਚੂਹਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।” (ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ।)
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 17:2
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਲਈ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਏ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦਿਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
