2 Chronicles 26:16
ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਤਾਕਤਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਘੁਮੰਡ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਫਾਦਾਰ ਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਧੂਪ ਦੀ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।

੨ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 32:25
ਪਰ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਰਹਿਮ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਹਿਰ ਭੜਕਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 8:14
ਜਦੋਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ।

ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।” ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਮੂਰੱਖਮਈ ਘਮੰਡ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 32:13

ਕੁਝ ਖਾਸ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੂਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਪਾਉ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਉ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੇਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋ।”

ਕੁਝ ਆਗੂ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕੋਰਹ, ਦਾਥਾਨ, ਅਬੀਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਓਨ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਏ। (ਕੋਰਹ ਯਿਸਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸਹਾਰ ਕਹਾਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਕਹਾਥ ਲੇਵੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਦਾਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਰਾਮ, ਅਲੀਆਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਓਨ, ਪਲਤ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਦਾਥਾਨ, ਅਬੀਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਓਨ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ।)
