ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਾਊਦ ਭੱਜਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਖਲੋਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਫ਼ੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮਿਆਨੋ ਖਿੱਚ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਇਉਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਇਕ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ।
