ਲੇਵੀ ਗਵਈਏ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਖਲੋ ਗਏ। ਗਵਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮੂਹ, ਆਸਾਫ਼, ਹੀਮਾਨ, ਅਤੇ ਯਦੂਥੂਨ ਅਨਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਏ। ਸਾਰੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਗਵਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਸੂਤੀ ਚੋਲੇ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰੰਗੀਆਂ, ਚਿਮਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਤਾਰਾਂ ਸਨ। ਓੱਥੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਗਵਈਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੁੱਲ 120 ਜਾਜਕ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ 120 ਜਾਜਕ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਵਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਵਈਏ ਇੱਕੋ ਸੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੇਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਦੂਥੂਨ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਸ ਕੰਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਵਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਤਾਂ, ਦਿਲਰੁਬਾ, ਛੈਣਿਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ:

ਹੇਮਾਨ, ਯਦੁਥੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਗਾਉਣ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੈ।

ਹੇਮਾਨ, ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਏਥਾਨ ਗਵੈਯੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਛੈਣੇ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਬੱਚਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਣ ਆਈ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।” ਤਦ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ।

ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗਕੇ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।”
