Numbers 14:16
‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।’

| which | אֲשֶׁר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| he sware | נִשְׁבַּ֣ע | nišbaʿ | neesh-BA |
| slain hath he therefore them, unto | לָהֶ֑ם | lāhem | la-HEM |
| them in the wilderness. | וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם | wayyišḥāṭēm | va-yeesh-ha-TAME |
