Mark 8:3
ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖਿਆਂ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।”

ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਦੋ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ 300 ਆਦਮੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਦਰਿਆ ਕੰਢੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਥੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੌਂਹ ਚੁਕਾਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਅਜੇ ਤੀਕ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਧਾ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਇੰਨੀ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।”
