ਕੁਆਰੀ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਲੀਸਬਤ ਗਰਭ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਬਰਾਏਲ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਨਾਮੀ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਕੁੜੀ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਕੁੜੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨਾਉਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਕੁੜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਸੀ।

ਤਾਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਨਗਰ ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ।

ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਨਥਾਨਿਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਦਾ ਹੈ।”
