ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪਸਾਹ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
