Joshua 2:17
ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ।

Exodus 20:7
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਲਤ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਲਤ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ।
Leviticus 19:11
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੋਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

“ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਖਾਸ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਉ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ!
Joshua 2:20
ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ।”

ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਭੁੱਖਮਰੀ ਪਈ ਰਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਕਾਲ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਤਿਆਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਇਹ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਿਬਓਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।”
2 Samuel 21:7
ਪਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ ਸੀ। ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਸਾਊਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਧੀ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਟ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
