ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਹੀ ਯੋਗ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ। ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੁਣ ਫ਼ਰਿੱਜ਼ੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਫ਼ਾਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦਾ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਲੈ ਲਵੋ।”

Joshua 13:6
“ਸੀਦੋਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰਫ਼ੋਥ ਮਯਿਮ ਤੱਕ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਉਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੰਡੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ। ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੜਾਕੂ ਯੋਧੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਥ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸੀ-ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਨੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੇਤ ਦੇ ਕਿਣਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Deuteronomy 20:1
ਜੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੂਲ “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੋ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ, ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ-ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
