ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਾੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾ ਆਕੇ ਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਈ। ਏਲੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਕਲ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਬਨ-ਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਏ। ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਫ਼ੇਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਏ।

ਇੰਝ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਨੇਗੇਵ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਦੇਸ਼, ਪੂਰਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਿਆ।

ਯਬੀਨ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਦੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਹਿੱਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਫ਼ਰਿੱਜ਼ੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਫ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹਰਮੋਨ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਿੱਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ।

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤਲੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੀ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ 12 ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਬਆਲ ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਹਾਲਾਕ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੀ।
