Job 20:21
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਚਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗੀ।

ਕਦੇ-ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਪੰਛੀ ਉਸ ਅੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਁਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਧਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਧਖੜ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਗਵਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਸੀ।”

ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ! ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ। ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਭਿਉਂ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਗਿੱਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਝੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।’
