ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਇਹ ਸੀ: “ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ। ‘ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲਈ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।’” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ “‘ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।’

Jeremiah 37:8
ਉਸਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਵੇਗੀ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ।’

Jeremiah 32:3
ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਕੈਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਮੈਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਿਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਹ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਓੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ:

ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ 21ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ 11ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।

Jeremiah 39:8

“ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਵੀ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਕੋਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

Jeremiah 37:1
ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਵੇਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਾਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।

Jeremiah 32:28
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗੀ।

Jeremiah 21:4
‘ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਹਬਿਆਰ ਨੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਬਿਆਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਬਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਕਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। “‘ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸੀਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਹੈ। ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ।
