Jeremiah 21:9
ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਰਪਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ! ਉਸ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੋਜਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਬਦ-ਮਲਕ। ਤੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਂਗਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵੇਂਗਾ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।’” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

ਬਾਰੂਕ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਮਹਾਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈਂ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕ ਨਾ ਰੱਖ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ।’ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ‘ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।’”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
Jeremiah 27:13
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਂਨੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਭੁੱਖ ਨਂਗ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
Jeremiah 14:12
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਰੋਜ਼ੇ ਰੱਖਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਵੀ ਕਰਨ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਾਂਗਾ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।”
Jeremiah 21:7
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ,’” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ, “‘ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਇਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਲੇਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਿਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਾਏਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।’
