ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ’ਚ ਉੱਤਰਨਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਯੱਸੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਸੀ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਥੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ। ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ 8 ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਯੱਸੀ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਮਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ।

ਯੱਸੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਦਾਊਦ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। (ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਰੀਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ।)

ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦਾ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਲਈ ਭਲਾ ਇੰਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਨਾਵੇਂਗਾ? ਤੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਤੀਕ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਲ ਭਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ। ਉੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯੱਸੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।”
ਮੱਤੀ 2:1
ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਆਏ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ।
ਮੀਕਾਹ 5:2
ਮਸੀਹਾ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਬਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਨਗਰ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ। ਪਰ “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ” ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲੇਗਾ। ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਨ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 132:6
ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਥਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਯਾਅਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ।
