Genesis 42:24
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਣ ਲੱਗਾ। ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਦ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਭਰਾ, ਸਿਮਓਨ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

| to | אֲלֵהֶם֙ | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| communed and again, them | וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר | waydabbēr | vai-da-BARE |
| with | אֲלֵהֶ֔ם | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| them, and took | וַיִּקַּ֤ח | wayyiqqaḥ | va-yee-KAHK |
| from them | מֵֽאִתָּם֙ | mēʾittām | may-ee-TAHM |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| Simeon, | שִׁמְע֔וֹן | šimʿôn | sheem-ONE |
| and bound him before | וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֥ר | wayyeʾĕsōr | va-yeh-ay-SORE |
| אֹת֖וֹ | ʾōtô | oh-TOH | |
