ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਕੱਢਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਨਾਜ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਿਆ। ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੀ।
