Exodus 22:13
ਜੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਸਬੂਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਬੱਬਰ-ਸ਼ੇਰ ਲੇਲੇ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਜੜੀ ਲੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਅ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਦੋ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੰਨ ਆਦਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਅ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਂ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਛੁਡਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਪਰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੰਜੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੁਕਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਦੇ ਤੁਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਬੱਬਰ-ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਆਨ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੰਗਲ ’ਚ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਨਿਡਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਬਚਣਾ ਨਾਮੁਮਕਿਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
Nahum 2:12
(ਨੀਨਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ) ਸ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰਨੀ ਦਾ ਢਿੱਡ ਭਰਦਾ ਹੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ (ਨੀਨਵਾਹ) ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਬਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਲਈ।
