Exodus 14:16
ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਲ ਸਾਗਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲਾਲ ਸਾਗਰ ਪਾਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਧਰਤੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ।

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੋਟ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਤਾ।

“ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਖਾਸ ਰੋਟੀ ਲੈ ਆ। ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗ ਤੁਰੇਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।”

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਲਾਲ ਸਾਗਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾ ਵਗਾਈ। ਹਵਾ ਰਾਤ ਭਰ ਚਲਦੀ ਰਹੀ। ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Exodus 7:9
“ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਬੂਤ ਮਂਗੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਟੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਸੋਟੀ ਸੱਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।”
Exodus 4:2
ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਕੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ?” ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਹੈ।”
