Luke 1:29
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੂਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣੇ, ਉਹ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਘਬਰਾ ਗਈ। ਉਹ ਸੋਚਣ ਲੱਗੀ, “ਇਸ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੋਇਆ।”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ? ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।”
