ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਸੌ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਔਲਾਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਸਾਰਾਹ ਵੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ।
Luke 1:7
ਪਰ ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੀਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਔਲਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਇਲੀਸਬਤ ਬਾਂਝ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ।
