Exodus 4:21

ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
Deuteronomy 2:30

ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵੈਰ ਕਮਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਬਚਾਵੇ?” ਪਰ ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ, ਨਾ ਮੰਨੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
