ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੇਹੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਕਹੇਂਗਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗੇ। ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕਰ।”

ਤਦ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਕੀਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੁੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜ ਜਾ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਹੇ ਮੈਂ ਭਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।” ਤਦ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ 10,200 ਕਿੱਲੋ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ 10,20 ਕਿੱਲੋ ਸੋਨਾ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ।
Joshua 9:24
ਗਿਬਓਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਆਖਿਆ।
Jeremiah 27:7
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
Jeremiah 27:17
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ। ਆਪਣੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੋਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਗਰ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਿਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
