ਪਰ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਦੀ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਵੱਲ ਕੋਈ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਆਇਨ, ਯੁੱਤਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਂ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਅਤੇ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਗਊਆਂ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵੱਲ ਨਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਗਈਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਰੋਪੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੰਡ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਾਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਵੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ ਸਨ।”

ਜਦੋਂ ਨਬੀ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿ! ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਚੁੱਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।” ਨਬੀ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ, ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਠਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਬੁਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਕਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।”

ਪਰ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
