Deuteronomy 20:16
“ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

| give doth | נֹתֵ֥ן | nōtēn | noh-TANE |
| thee for an inheritance, | לְךָ֖ | lĕkā | leh-HA |
| alive save shalt thou | נַֽחֲלָ֑ה | naḥălâ | na-huh-LA |
| nothing | לֹ֥א | lōʾ | loh |
| תְחַיֶּ֖ה | tĕḥayye | teh-ha-YEH | |
| that breatheth: | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
