Deuteronomy 2:29
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਲੈਣ ਦਿਉ। ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ-ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ।’

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਵੱਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਭੇਜੇ। ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਰਿਆਇਤ ਮੰਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਉ।” ਪਰ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹੋ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਪਰ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਖੇ ਠਹਿਰ ਗਏ।
Deuteronomy 23:3
“ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਜਾਂ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ 10ਵੀ ਪੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

Deuteronomy 25:15

‘ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੰਮਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

Deuteronomy 4:1
ਮੂਸਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ “ਹੁਣ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਣ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੇੜਨੀ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਲੂਤ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।’”
Exodus 20:12
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿਉਂ ਸੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
