Deuteronomy 18:1
ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਣਾ “ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।

ਇੱਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਸਦੀ ਬਜਾਇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਮ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਪਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨਾ। ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹੋ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਕਰੋ।
Numbers 18:20
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਮੈਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ, ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਗਾਤ ਹਾਂ।
Numbers 18:8
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਾਸ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੁਗਾਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ।
1 Peter 5:2
ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸਤੇ ਸਵੈਂ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹੋਵੋਂ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸਾਹਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਲਾਭ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਅਵਸ਼ ਹੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਅੰਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Joshua 18:7
ਲੇਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਗਾਦ, ਰਊਬੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਮਸੂਹ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।”

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸੌਗਾਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Numbers 26:62
ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ, ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲ ਗਿਣਤੀ 23,000 ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
