Deuteronomy 1:13
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ: ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਬੰਦੇ ਚੁਣ ਲਵੋ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਗੂ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸਮਝ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਹੈ।’

ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਆਗੂ ਵੀ ਚੁਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇਕ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ-ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਖਾਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਨਾ ਬਦਲਣ। ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣਾ। ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ, ਸੌ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ, ਪੰਜਾਹ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਸ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
Numbers 11:16
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 70 ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਥੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕਰੋ।
Acts 1:21
“ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਲੇ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਪੁਨਰ ਉਥਾਂਨ ਦਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਬਣੇ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਗਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।”
Acts 6:2
ਤਾਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਰਤਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰੀਏ।
