Acts 7:11
ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਇੰਨੀ ਸੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਅਨਾਜ ਨਾ ਉੱਗ ਸੱਕਿਆ। ਨਤੀਜਾ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਝੱਲਣੇ ਪਏ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ।

Genesis 42:5

Genesis 45:5
ਹੁਣ, ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਾਂ।
Genesis 45:11
ਮੈਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਦੇਖ-ਭਾਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।’

ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖਰੀਦਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਮਾੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਵੀ ਅਨਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਮਿਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਇਸ ਮੰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
