Genesis 28:8
ਏਸਾਓ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਨ।

ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਏਸਾਓ 40 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਇੱਕ ਬੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਯਹੂਦਿਥ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਏਲੋਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਸੀ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
