ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਬੜਾ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੜਾ ਖਰਾਬ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ।”

ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਬਚਣਗੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਜਸੂਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।

ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਦੇ ਸਰਾਪ “ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ-ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ:
Deuteronomy 28:11

ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਬੱਚਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
Exodus 15:23
ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਮਗਰੋਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰਾਹ ਆ ਗਏ। ਮਾਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਪੀਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੌੜਾ ਸੀ। (ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਾਰਾਹ ਸੀ।)
1 Timothy 5:17
ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ।
