2 Kings 18:22
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹੇਂ ਕਿ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।” ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਸ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਤੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ ਕਰੋ।”

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਸਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਬ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਜੋ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੂਰਾ-ਚੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਾ ਦੇ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਢਾਹ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉੱਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਢਾਹ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਈਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਢਾਹਾ-ਢੁਹਾਈ ਤਦ ਤੀਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਦੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਤਮ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਪਰੰਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤ ਗਏ।

ਪਰੰਤੂ ਆਤਮਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਆਂੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਦੂਸਰੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰੱਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ।
