2 Kings 14:6
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਨਾ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਮਾਪੇ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਦਾ ਦੰਡ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”

| saying, | יְהוָ֜ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| The fathers | לֵאמֹ֗ר | lēʾmōr | lay-MORE |
| not shall | לֹֽא | lōʾ | loh |
| be put to death | יוּמְת֨וּ | yûmĕtû | yoo-meh-TOO |
| for | אָב֤וֹת | ʾābôt | ah-VOTE |
| children, the | עַל | ʿal | al |
