ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਇਹ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਵੀਹਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਨਾਂ ਸੂਚੀ ’ਚ ਅੰਕਿਤ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੂਚੀ ’ਚ ਦਰਜ ਸੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਸਨ ਉਹ 20 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਧੀਕ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਅਖੀਰਲੀ ਹਿਦਾਇਤ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਸੀ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਏ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ। ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 20 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆਂ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ। ਤਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਸੇਵਾ, ਗਾਉਣ-ਵਜਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਜਸ ਦਾ ਗਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਦੂਜੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਇਉਂ ਸਨ: ਅਮਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸ਼ੂਬਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੂਬਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਹਦਯਾਹ।
Numbers 17:2
“ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੋਟੀਆਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ। ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਗੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਲੈ। ਹਰੇਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਦੇ।

“ਲੇਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਖਾਸ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ: ਹਰੇਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ 25 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ ਦਾ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ। ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਵੇ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੂਸਾ, ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
