ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਇਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ।

Isaiah 26:21
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਧਰਤੀ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਜੇਗੀ।

Deuteronomy 31:16
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ-ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Exodus 34:15
“ਹੋਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਦਾਵਤ ਵੀ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਸ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗੀ। ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ।”
