ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ, ਨਾ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਆਸਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ।

ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਨੇਕ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਪਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਨੇ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਗੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
2 Kings 12:3
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਲੀਆ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਫ਼ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਹਨਾਨੀ ਨਬੀ ਆਸਾ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਸਾ, ਤੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਬਚ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
