ਤਾਂ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਗਏ। ਤਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੀਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
