ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਜੇ ਤੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ?” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਸਾਮਗਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੁਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?”

ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਾਈ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਨਗੇ?”
